Azerbaijani producers report strong figures for fresh produce exports
Azerbaijani food producers managed to boost export levels of fresh produce so far this year.
New data released by the country's State Customs Committee shows a strong dynamic across most key indicators for this segment, as Caliber.Az reports.
The figures relate to the period of January-August 2026, with increased recorded not only in the quantitative amount of exported fruits and vegetables, which was up by 0.3% from the previous year to 540,918.53 tons, but also an increase in revenue generated. The total value of exported goods increased by 13.6% to $637.106 million of vegetables and fruits.
This food segment is a key product for Azerbaijan, as it makes up a significant part in the country's overall export portfolio. For the current reporting period, the share of fruits and vegetables of total exports stood at 2.92%, compared with 3.29% in January-August 2025.
At the same time, Azerbaijan imported 223,127.8 tons of vegetables and fruits in January-August 2026, which represents a decrease of 13.2% year-on-year. The overall value of those imports was 1.2% higher, however, equaling $205 million and indicating an increase of price points. The share of vegetables and fruits in total imports reached 1.8%, compared with 1.35% in the same period of 2025.
