Azerbaijan’s gas export revenue falls 4.8% to $5.71 billion

Azerbaijan exported 16.38 billion cubic metres of natural gas in the first eight months of 2026, down 0.5% from a year earlier, according to customs data.

The value of gas exports fell 4.8% to $5.71 billion, the State Customs Committee said, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Gas accounted for 26.18% of Azerbaijan’s total exports in January-August, compared with 35.14% in the same period last year.

Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover reached $33.24 billion during the period, with exports of $21.82 billion and imports of $11.42 billion.

Exports rose 27.8% year-on-year, while imports fell 24.1%, according to the customs data.
