Pakistan’s Army chief delivers harsh warning to India over sovereignty threats
Pakistan’s armed forces have issued a stern warning to India, declaring that any violation of Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty will trigger an immediate, unequivocal, and ruthless military response.
In an interview with Sky News, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said that Pakistan would not tolerate any aggression from its eastern neighbour.
“Whoever attempts to violate our territory, integrity, or sovereignty will face a ruthless response,” the ISPR chief warned. He emphasised that both Pakistan and India are nuclear-armed states, and any serious provocation could have catastrophic consequences for the region.
Chaudhri also condemned India’s long-standing strategy of blaming Pakistan for terrorism, calling it a fabricated narrative intended to spread fear.
“The world must never allow India to spread fear by fabricating stories of terrorism year after year,” he stated.
Addressing the long-standing Kashmir dispute, General Chaudhry reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm stance that Kashmir is not India’s internal matter.
“The Kashmir issue remains an unfinished part of the partition agenda between Pakistan and India,” he stressed. “It is a tripartite dispute involving Pakistan, India, and China, and must be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.”
The ISPR chief accused India of maintaining a heavy military presence in Kashmir under the false pretext of internal security, which he said has led to the persecution of the local population and the denial of their right to self-determination.
General Chaudhri also expressed concern over India’s posture and warned that any attempt to open a front against Pakistan would have disastrous consequences for the entire region. “Countries like the United States understand the nuclear risk. We are fully aware of India’s intentions, and we are prepared,” he added.
According to Sky News, while India possesses superior conventional military capabilities, Pakistan has managed to maintain a strong defensive potential. The report also noted that Washington’s recent attention to the Kashmir issue has irritated New Delhi, calling it a “real test” of how much pressure the US is willing to exert on India.
