Pakistan to host four-nation talks on Iran conflict
A four-party meeting of foreign ministers from Türkiye, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is set to take place in Islamabad on March 30, with discussions expected to focus on regional developments, including the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.
The meeting, reported by CNN citing Pakistan’s state television, will mark the first such gathering since the outbreak of the war.
According to private broadcaster AHaber, Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the talks were originally planned to be hosted in Türkiye but were relocated.
“But since our Pakistani brother had to remain in his country, we moved the talks to Pakistan,” Fidan said.
Pakistan has emerged as a key mediator in the latest round of diplomacy between the United States and Iran, having conveyed a 15-point peace proposal from Washington to Tehran.
