Pakistani FM rejects media speculation on US–Iran peace talks

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has rejected media speculation about supposed peace talks between the United States and Iran, clarifying the nature of ongoing contacts related to the conflict in the Middle East.

In a statement posted on X, Dar said that reports circulating in the media about the progress of peace negotiations aimed at ending the conflict were unfounded, as per Caliber.Az.

“There has been unnecessary speculation in the media regarding peace talks to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East,” he said. “In reality, US-Iran indirect talks are taking place through messages being relayed by Pakistan. In this context, the United States has shared 15 points, being deliberated upon by Iran.”

He added that several countries are supporting the process, noting: “Brotherly countries of Türkiye and Egypt, among others, are also extending their support to this initiative.”

Dar emphasised Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement, stating that the country “remains fully committed to promoting peace and continues to make every effort to ensure stability in the region and beyond.”

He concluded by stressing the importance of diplomatic efforts, writing: “Dialogue and Diplomacy is the only way forward!”
