Netherlands win FIFA Fair Play award at 2026 World Cup

The Netherlands have received the FIFA Fair Play Award at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, FIFA has announced.

Over the course of four matches, the Netherlands received just three yellow cards, earning them the tournament's Fair Play prize, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

It is the first time the Netherlands have received the award.

The Dutch side exited the tournament in the Round of 32 after losing to Morocco on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

The FIFA Fair Play Award has been presented since 1970. Brazil has won it a record four times, while Spain and England have each claimed the honour on three occasions.

Spain won the 2026 World Cup, defeating Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final. Ferran Torres scored the winner in the 106th minute, while Argentina finished the match with 10 men following Enzo Fernández's dismissal in stoppage time.
