Pakistani PM begins China trip amid 75 years of diplomatic ties
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province, on Saturday, marking the start of an official visit to China scheduled to run from May 23 to May 26.
According to CGTN, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the visit, describing it as an important high-level exchange between the two countries as they mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Chinese officials said Beijing aims to use the visit to reinforce long-standing ties, expand cooperation, and further advance the “comprehensive strategic partnership” between the two nations.
The Chinese side also expressed expectations that the visit would open a “new chapter” in efforts to build a closer bilateral relationship, describing it as a shared vision of a community with a common future in a new era.
