Passenger train derails after collision Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region

A passenger train operating the Kharkiv–Uzhhorod route was forced to make an emergency stop after colliding with a freight train near Korosten in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region.

The Ukrainian Railways said the locomotive derailed as a result of the incident, per Caliber.Az.

No serious injuries were reported among passengers. One woman sustained a minor glass cut and received on-site medical assistance.

The freight train crew—comprising the driver and an assistant—were hospitalized due to injuries. Emergency services are currently working at the scene.
