Peskov: Armenia's refusal to sign CSTO declaration not to affect organisation
The Russian presidential press secretary, Dmitriy Peskov, has said that Armenia's refusal to sign the draft "Declaration of the CSTO Security Council on joint measures to assist the Republic of Armenia" will not affect the organisation's existence in any way.
"There are certain disagreements that prevented the signing of two documents. But this does not mean that it threatens the existence of the CSTO," Gazeta.Ru reports, citing Peskov.
According to him, the last meeting only testifies to the growing need of the CSTO participants in such a conference.
On November 23, it became known that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not sign the draft Declaration of the CSTO Security Council. Pashinyan said that the lack of a solution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict is a blow to the image of the CSTO both inside and outside Armenia.
