Vehicle explosions continue in Damascus-controlled areas. A car carrying ammunition exploded near Al-Mustafa Mosque in Al-Bukamal. The government must protect civilians from such repeated blasts.#DeirEzzor #syria https://t.co/2iCCc2Z7Q0 pic.twitter.com/qd1i2dydZR

The incident follows recent attacks in the region. On December 13, a joint Syrian-American patrol near Palmyra came under fire, resulting in the deaths of two U.S. soldiers and an American civilian translator. On December 14, four traffic police officers were killed during an ISIS raid in Idlib.
