Poland activates air defences amid massive Russian attacks on Ukraine
Poland has activated its air defence assets in response to Russian long-range aviation activity targeting Ukraine, the country’s military said.
In a statement posted on X, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces said that due to the activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, which was carrying out strikes on Ukrainian territory, Polish military aviation had begun operating in the country’s airspace, Caliber.Az reports.

The military said that, in accordance with applicable procedures, it had activated the necessary forces and assets at its disposal, adding that ground-based air defence systems and radar reconnaissance units had reached a state of readiness.
The command described the measures as preventive in nature, aimed at securing and protecting Polish airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to threatened regions.
The military added that it was continuously monitoring the situation and that subordinate forces and assets remained on standby for immediate response.
