Poland creates sapper units to fortify eastern flank

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak announced on July 23 the creation of a sapper battalion to beef up the security in the eastern flank.

The minister revealed that it could be located in the northeast of the country in the city of Augustow in the Suwałki Gap.

“A sapper battalion will soon be created in Augustow. This is another military unit that we are building from scratch, and I assure you it will not be the last one,” Blaszczak wrote on Twitter, adding he would announce new investments in the near future, Caliber.Az informs.
