Poland detects unidentified balloon-like objects in its airspace
The Polish Armed Forces have detected unidentified objects resembling balloons in the country’s airspace, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said in a statement.
According to the military, radar systems registered the objects during the night of February 8–9. The objects were continuously identified and monitored by military intelligence units, Caliber.Az reports.

The Operational Command said the situation remained fully under control and stressed that the objects did not pose a threat to civilian air traffic or public safety.
No further details were provided regarding the origin or purpose of the detected objects.
NATO members are raising security concerns after a growing number of balloons believed to originate from Belarus crossed into the airspace of Poland and Lithuania, sometimes forcing temporary airport closures.
Lithuanian authorities said dozens of balloons carrying smuggled cigarettes were detected entering the country in recent days, disrupting air traffic in the capital, Vilnius. Poland also reported similar incursions along its eastern border.
