Poland reaffirms commitment to Ukraine’s defence with major new aid package
Poland is set to send its 46th military aid package to Ukraine, valued at over 200 million euros. This new assistance package will include a variety of military hardware, ammunition, defence systems, and equipment to bolster Ukraine's ongoing defence efforts against Russian aggression.
The announcement was made by the Polish Ministry of National Defence following an official visit to Kyiv by Paweł Zalewski, the State Secretary of the Ministry, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
During his visit, Zalewski held discussions with Ukrainian officials from the National Security and Defence Council, the Ministry of Defence, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The talks primarily focused on the current security situation and the future direction of military cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.
Zalewski provided Ukrainian representatives with detailed information about the 46th aid package, which is designed to address Ukraine’s pressing military needs. The aid package encompasses a wide array of essential military support, including ammunition, military equipment, and advanced defence systems.
This new support from Poland is a part of the ongoing international effort to assist Ukraine in its defence against Russia’s invasion. Poland has been one of Ukraine's staunchest allies in the region, consistently providing military assistance and playing a critical role in the broader NATO-backed support for Ukraine.
Poland has been a key ally of Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, providing extensive military aid, including tanks, heavy equipment, and ammunition.
The country has delivered 45 military aid packages to Ukraine since 2022, totaling over $4 billion.
Despite Warsaw's ongoing support, Ukraine-Poland bilateral relations have been strained by trade disputes and historical grievances.
