Polish consulates in US prepare for deportations as Trump set to begin mass migration crackdown
Polish consulates in the United States are bracing for potential deportations of Polish nationals, amid concerns that immigration measures will be among the first executive actions signed by President-elect Donald Trump following his inauguration.
The information was shared by a senior, unnamed official from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The official stated, "Recently, we have mainly been preparing consulates for potential assistance to people who will be affected by the action against illegal migration”.
According to media reports, Trump's administration is expected to begin implementing his campaign pledge for mass deportations of undocumented migrants on January 21, the day after his inauguration.
However, some experts say that deporting millions of undocumented migrants would face significant logistical hurdles and legal challenges, and the costs could run into hundreds of billions of dollars.
