Polish FM: Russia unable to launch major offensive against NATO

27 May 2026 12:47

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has stated that Russia currently lacks the capacity to launch a large-scale offensive against NATO, while warning that the threat posed by Moscow should still be taken seriously.

According to the Polish Foreign Ministry, as cited by Caliber.Az, Sikorski made the remarks while assessing Russia’s military capabilities and broader intentions.

“Russia is threatening us, and we must take this seriously. Russia today is not in a position to conduct a major offensive against NATO, and if it were preparing for this, we would see it — we have satellite intelligence. We saw the concentration of one hundred thousand troops around Ukraine, which built up over months.

Today we see that Putin’s intentions are worse than expected in Western Europe, so no one will ignore this. Russia is capable of sabotage or provocations carried out below the threshold of a full-scale invasion.

NATO must also be prepared for such actions,” the post reads.
