Polish PM: Russia, not Zelenskyy, turned down US-backed peace initiative
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the US-backed initiative to end the war in Ukraine was rejected by Russia, not by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Tusk made the statement in a post on X amid remarks by US President Donald Trump, who said he believed Zelenskyy was delaying the conclusion of a peace agreement, Caliber.Az reports.
It is Russia who rejected the peace plan prepared by the US, not @ZelenskyyUa. The only Russian response were further missile attacks on Ukrainian cities. This is why the only solution is to strengthen pressure on Russia. And you all know it.

“It is Russia who rejected the peace plan prepared by the US, not Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” the PM stressed.
He added that the Kremlin’s response to US efforts to advance peace initiatives had been new missile strikes on Ukrainian cities.
“This is why the only solution is to strengthen pressure on Russia,” Tusk concluded.
The United States has developed a multipoint peace framework aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war, including security guarantees for Ukraine and potential territorial and military stipulations that both Kyiv and Moscow have contested.
Ukraine and the US have reportedly refined a peace plan into a 20-point framework that includes commitments to a non-aggression pact and security assurances, but key issues such as territorial control in the east remain unresolved.
Russia has rejected significant elements of earlier US proposals, including freezing frontlines and some security provisions, and continues to press maximalist demands that Kyiv finds unacceptable.
