Polish, US F-16 pilots begin joint exercises
The Polish Ministry of National Defence has announced that the joint exercises, Aviation Detachment Rotation 24-3, will run until August 7.
These exercises feature Polish F-16s from the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask and American aircraft from the 138th Fighter Wing of the USAF. During the drills, pilots are refining operational procedures for F-16s in combat conditions, Caliber.Az reports citing the foreign sources.
The US Air Force confirmed that six F-16 Fighting Falcons assigned to the 138th Fighter Wing at Tulsa Air National Guard (ANG) Base in Oklahoma arrived at Łask Air Base, Poland, on July 16, 2024, for the latest 52nd Operations Group Det 1 Aviation Detachment Rotation.
The Ministry of National Defence and the Polish Armed Forces announced via social media that the Aviation Detachment Rotation 24-3 exercise began on July 25. Polish and US pilots are conducting joint air operations across the country using multi-role F-16s.
The exercise, featuring F-16s from the 32nd Tactical Air Base and the 138th Fighter Wing of the USAF, will run until August 7. Its objectives include refining operational procedures for F-16 combat aircraft and enhancing interoperability and collaboration between the Polish Air Force and the US Air Force.
These recurring Polish-American Aviation Detachment Rotation exercises are held in Poland under a cooperation memorandum signed by Poland and the US in 2011.
