Politician: Türkiye's main opposition party cannot have bad relations with Azerbaijan
Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) of Türkiye Ozgur Ozel has said that Türkiye's main opposition party cannot have bad relations with Azerbaijan.
“If we have a mistake, then it should be corrected,” the politician said in an interview with Haberturk TV channel, Report informs.
In an interview Ozel also announced about paying a visit to Azerbaijan.
“The CHP is the party that created and institutionalised the state. It made significant contribution to institutionalisation. One cannot escape some traditions of the state. The elections are over, I left the congress as chairman. First of all, I visited Cyprus [Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus]. Then I intend to hold a meeting in Azerbaijan. The second visit must be paid to Azerbaijan,” he noted.
The politician said that he plans to visit Azerbaijan in the coming days.
While delivering a speech at the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 17, Ozel expressed support for Azerbaijan. Moreover, Ozel sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on February 17 in connection with his victory in the elections.
