17 April 2025 12:14
Approximately 1,800 Armenian freight trucks are currently stranded near the Upper Lars border crossing on the Russian-Georgian border in North Ossetia.
According to the Armenian media reports, more than 5,000 trucks from various countries are lined up at the crossing, with 1,745 of them bearing Armenian license plates, per Caliber.Az.
The road segment from Gudauri to Kobi on the Mtskheta–Stepantsminda–Lars highway has remained closed since April 14 due to adverse weather conditions.
Statistics indicate that around 150 Armenian trucks pass through the Upper Lars crossing daily.
The Georgian Military Road is the only overland route directly connecting Armenia with Russia.
