Türkiye detains hundreds of drug dealers in massive drug raid VIDEO
A large-scale operation named NARKOKAPAN-ANKARA has been carried out in Türkiye as part of the fight against illegal drug trafficking, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X.
"This morning at 5:00 a.m. in our capital Ankara, we conducted the largest anti-narcotics operation in the history of our Republic. The operation targeted drug dealers who sell narcotics in neighborhoods and backstreets through social media platforms," Caliber.Az quotes Yerlikaya as saying.

He noted that 4,768 police officers, 1,461 teams, 40 specially trained sniffer dogs, 4 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and aviation support units took part in the operation.
"Simultaneous raids were carried out at 626 different addresses. 525 individuals were detained. The operation is still ongoing," the minister added.
As a reminder, Türkiye's Interior Ministry conducted Operation NARKOKAPAN-14 in Istanbul, resulting in the seizure of 25.5kg of heroin, 17kg of methamphetamine, and various quantities of cocaine, skunk, and psychotropic pills.
Minister Yerlikaya confirmed that 153 suspects were arrested in connection with the drug distribution operation. Authorities also seized significant sums of foreign currency and Turkish lira, highlighting the scale of the trafficking operations.
