Georgian MP describes Azerbaijan as indispensable strategic partner
Azerbaijan remains a vital and irreplaceable strategic partner for Georgia, member of Georgian Parliament Levan Makhashvili said, emphasizing the significance of bilateral ties in light of the recent official visit by President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Baku.
Highlighting Azerbaijan’s geostrategic importance, Makhashvili described the country as a crucial bridge between East and West, as well as Europe and Asia, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
“Azerbaijan plays an important role in connecting regions and facilitating regional cooperation, making it an indispensable partner for Georgia,” he stated.
Commenting on the outcomes of the presidential visit, Makhashvili characterized it as “extremely productive and interesting,” noting that the talks covered a wide array of critical issues spanning political, economic, and regional dimensions.
During his two-day official visit, President Kavelashvili held high-level meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, and Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. The discussions took place in both one-on-one and expanded formats, reflecting the depth and mutual commitment to advancing bilateral relations.
The visit reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the two neighboring countries and underscored their shared strategic interests in regional development, energy cooperation, and connectivity projects.
