Poll: Estonian government approval drops to historic minimum
The approval rating of Estonia’s ruling coalition has fallen to a historic low, with combined support dropping to around 12%, according to new polling data reported by ERR.
The figures are based on a May survey conducted by Kantar Emor, which shows a sharp decline in backing for the Estonian Reform Party, the leading force within the government. Support for the party has fallen to 10%, a significant drop compared to the 31.2% it secured in the 2023 parliamentary elections, when it was led by Kaja Kallas.
Another coalition member, Estonia 200, continues to struggle, remaining below the electoral threshold for more than a year. In the latest poll, its support stands at just 2%.
Overall, the combined rating of the governing coalition has reached an all-time low of approximately 12%. When factoring in undecided voters, the figure declines further to 9.4%, underscoring the scale of the coalition’s loss of public support.
The opposition Isamaa remains the most popular political force, maintaining its lead in the poll. The Estonian Centre Party ranks second with 21%, followed by the Social Democratic Party of Estonia in third place at 17%.
Meanwhile, the right-wing populist Conservative People's Party of Estonia has recorded a notable increase in support, rising from 9% in April to 14% in May.
