President Duda eyes to convince US counterpart to boost number of soldiers, equipment in Poland
Polish President Andrzej Duda has said that he will convince US President Joe Biden to increase the presence of American soldiers and equipment warehouses in Poland.
“Let this infrastructure be here, let it be an additional guarantee of our security,” stressed the president, according to News in France.
He added that the warehouses of military equipment of the US and other allies would be an additional guarantee of security for Poland, allowing for a faster transfer of troops in the event of a threat.
“We already have bases today and we already have equipment, but I think there should be more of it, I will also convince President Joe Biden of this,” Duda said on TVP Info.
He answered in the affirmative when asked whether he intends to convince the leaders of France and Germany during the Munich Security Conference as well.
He added that he intends to raise the topic of increasing the American military presence during Biden’s visit to Warsaw in face-to-face talks and at meetings of both delegations.
“Not only during the summit of the Bucharest Nine, but above all during his visit to us at the Presidential Palace,” stressed the president.
He expressed confidence that President Biden’s speech “delivered from Warsaw to the world” will have “great, symbolic significance for building our security system.”
