President Tokayev: Kazakhstan remains strong, loyal ally of Russia
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has said that Kazakhstan has always been and remains a loyal ally and strategic partner of Russia.
President Tokayev made this statement in his welcoming address to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he met in Astana, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He noted that "in these challenging periods" the relationship between the two countries is built on a solid foundation of strategic partnership and alliance.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day state visit.
During the talks, Putin and Tokayev would discuss the further development of the Russia-Kazakhstan relations and alliance, particularly in light of Astana's chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and Moscow's leadership in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and BRICS.
