Pro-Palestinian protesters cause $1.2 million damage to Ukrainian military gear in Belgium
Pro-Palestinian activists inflicted around 1 million euro ($1.2 million) in damage on military equipment intended for Ukraine during coordinated attacks on June 23, targeting two Belgian companies, OIP in Tournai and Syensqo in Haren.
Approximately 100 protesters breached the OIP facility, a Belgian subsidiary of Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems, vandalizing offices, IT infrastructure, and equipment using grinders and hammers, Caliber.Az reports via a foreign website.
The disruption has delayed deliveries of critical military gear to Ukraine by about one month.
Freddy Versluys, OIP’s CEO, revealed that about 80 per cent of the activists were women, an observation based on security footage and their handling of tools. The protesters wore sealed white protective suits covering their faces and bodies during the attack.
