Putin, Lukashenko to discuss Zelenskyy’s threats, Kremlin says

22 June 2026 15:35

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko are expected to hold contacts in the near future, during which they will discuss, among other issues, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s threats against Minsk, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated.

He said Zelenskyy’s threats against Belarus constitute interference in the internal affairs of another country and an encroachment on its sovereignty, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“Indeed, as you know, Alexander Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] has also spoken about this, contacts are planned in the foreseeable future. This will be a good opportunity to discuss these and other issues,” Peskov noted.

Zelenskyy previously warned Belarus, saying he was prepared to order strikes on equipment allegedly stationed on Belarusian territory along the border with Ukraine if it is not removed within a week.
