Putin suggests Russia as secure alternative for oil, gas transit amid Iran crisis
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia could offer alternative transport routes for global oil and gas flows as escalating tensions in the Middle East threaten shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and disrupt energy markets.
In a video address to participants at the International Transport and Logistics Forum, Putin argued that these routes would benefit partner countries economically by reducing transit times and helping diversify global transport flows, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Putin claimed that Russia is positioned to contribute to what he described as a new architecture of global logistics and international trade. He added that the country is prepared to share its expertise and engage in joint programmes in science and technology.
He also noted that Russia could train specialists capable of advancing transport and logistics systems based on modern technological foundations, supporting long-term development in the sector.
