Qatar, China hold strategic talks on escalating regional issues
Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, held talks with China’s Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs, Zhai Jun, to discuss recent developments in the region, according to a statement from Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.
“During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and ways to support and strengthen cooperation across various fields. They also exchanged views on recent regional developments, particularly the agreement reached between the United States and Iran, as well as the situations in Syria and the Gaza Strip. The discussions also covered efforts aimed at enhancing regional security and stability.
The Chinese envoy expressed appreciation for Qatar’s constructive role in mediation and peaceful dispute resolution, praising its contribution to maintaining regional and international security and stability. He also commended Qatar’s efforts in supporting Pakistani mediation between the United States and Iran and its role in creating favourable conditions for reaching an agreement between the two sides,” the ministry said.
