Qatar expels Iranian military and security attachés

Qatar has declared two Iranian diplomats — the military attaché and the security attaché — persona non grata, ordering them and their subordinates to leave the country within 24 hours, according to a statement from the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs cited by foreign media.

In its official press release, the ministry specified that both attachés, along with all personnel under their authority, must depart Qatari territory within the stated timeframe.

The decision, the ministry said, was taken in response to actions by Iran that it described as violations of international law and the principles of good neighbourly relations.
