Qatar reveals key issues set to dominate upcoming US-Iran talks
The situation in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program will be among the main issues discussed during indirect negotiations between US and Iranian delegations in Doha, according to Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Mohammed Al-Ansari.
“The situation in the Strait of Hormuz is, of course, one of the main topics of the ongoing talks. However, it is not the only contentious issue. There are others, including the nuclear program and the broader regional situation,” the diplomat said during a briefing.
Al-Ansari emphasised that Doha’s position remains unchanged and is based on the need to ensure the free and uninterrupted passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, which holds the status of an international waterway.
