Qatar’s emir, US president assess growing regional instability in phone call
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a phone call with US President Donald Trump, in which the two sides discussed recent regional and international developments amid escalating tensions in the region.
According to the official website of the Amiri Diwan, particular attention was given to the impact of the situation on international maritime security, the stability of global energy markets, and supply chains.
The Emir reaffirmed that Qatar remains a reliable partner in maintaining the stability of global energy markets and continues to fulfil its commitments to international partners.” He also stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and ensure regional and global security.
For his part, President Trump expressed appreciation for Qatar’s mediating role in the region and its readiness to cooperate on energy security and global market stability.
