Qatar says military intercepts drones launched from Iran

The Qatari Ministry of Defence said the country’s armed forces successfully intercepted multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched toward the emirate on April 2.

In an official statement, the ministry said that the drones originated from Iran and were neutralised before reaching their targets, Caliber.Az reports. 

“The Qatari Ministry of Defence announces that today, April 2, the State of Qatar came under attack involving several drones launched from Iran. Our armed forces [...] successfully intercepted all unmanned aerial vehicles,” the statement said.

Authorities did not specify how many UAVs were involved in the incident or provide further details about potential damage or casualties.
