Raisi really expressed concerns to Aliyev about presence of foreign forces in region Details of Astana meeting and purpose of Iranian exercises
Since October 18 evening, Armenian news services and Telegram channels have been quoting some “sources” of the pro-Armenian Lebanese publication Kataeb, according to which, at a meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Iran, Ilham Aliyev and Ebrahim Raisi in Astana last week, a heated argument allegedly took place, during which mutual accusations and other things were heard.
Meanwhile, as it became known to Caliber.Az from informed sources in diplomatic circles familiar with the course of the Azerbaijani-Iranian negotiations in Astana, the information spread by the Lebanese publication and picked up by the Armenian media in the style of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's "yellow press style", is fake.
According to the information we received, at the talks held in Astana, the Iranian side did indeed express concern about the presence of foreign forces in the region. But this concerned ... the presence of European observers on the territory of Armenia, since the legal presence of dozens of Western spies near its borders with the prospect of deploying a Western "peacekeeping" contingent in Armenia openly contradicts the interests of Tehran.
On the contrary, the talks between the Azerbaijani and Iranian leaders in Astana took place in a constructive atmosphere. However, the Armenian side, willingly believing its own fakes, should think carefully about who the "peace-bearing" Iranian exercises on the border, which include crossing the Araz River, are actually directed against.
