Repatriated Azerbaijani citizens from Syria undergo rehabilitation process PHOTO
Sixteen Azerbaijani citizens recently repatriated from Syria have been placed in a specialised social services facility operated by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The group consists of nine children and seven women. The repatriated citizens have received initial medical care as well as social and psychological support, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry.
Following the completion of the rehabilitation process, they will be returned to their homes. At the next stage, social workers and psychologists from the agency will visit them at their places of residence to conduct comprehensive assessments and provide further support.
In recent years, the Social Services Agency has provided social rehabilitation services to more than 600 repatriated individuals. Rehabilitation work is currently ongoing with 84 returnees.
The latest group of 16 Azerbaijani citizens — including nine children and seven women — was successfully repatriated from Syria between July 18 and 19.
