Replacement aircraft to arrive in Baku for Airbus A380 passengers PHOTO

Another aircraft will arrive for the passengers of the Singapore-London flight of Qantas Airways, whose plane made an emergency landing at the Baku airport.

The Heydar Aliyev International Airport's press service told Caliber.Az the passengers will be accommodated in a hotel until the arrival of the aircraft.

Earlier today Airbus A380 double-decker airliner made an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport due to a triggered smoke detector in its cargo hold.

The captain of the Airbus A380 liner gave the signal to land at Baku airport, while it was in the airspace over the territory of Georgia.

Baku airport is one of the few airports in the world, equipped with the necessary facilities for servicing this type of aircraft and the runway, which is ready to receive such a large airliner. This is not the first time that A380 crews have requested an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
