Search and rescue operations have been completed following an explosion in the village of Duliby in Ukraine’s western Lviv region, local authorities said.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the blast occurred in the Stryi district and caused a fire that was later extinguished by rescuers, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures, Caliber.Az reports.
Three people were injured in the incident and were hospitalised, the emergency service said. During debris removal at the site of the destroyed two-storey building, rescuers recovered the body of a man showing no signs of life.
A total of five units of specialised equipment and 27 emergency responders were deployed, along with a canine unit from the Lviv Rapid Response Mobile Rescue Centre. Law enforcement agencies were also involved at the scene.
Emergency services confirmed that all work at the site has now been completed. The cause of the explosion is under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
