Retaliation underway: Russian forces target Ukrainian oil, fuel facilities

Russian forces carried out a retaliatory strike on Ukraine’s fuel and energy infrastructure used in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia’s Ministry of Defence announced.

“Today at night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in response to Kyiv’s attacks, carried out a group strike using high-precision long-range ground- and air-based weapons, as well as long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, against Ukraine’s fuel and energy infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the strike hit a fuel depot in the settlement of Boryspil-2 in the Kyiv region and the oil refinery in the Poltava region.
