Rocket strike on Baghdad airport leads to senior officer dismissals

Following a recent rocket attack on Baghdad International Airport, Iraqi authorities have removed several officers and field commanders from their positions, a security source told Shafaq News.
Those dismissed include the commander of Brigade 55 of the 17th Division, the battalion commander overseeing the affected sector, Brigade 55’s intelligence officer, the battalion’s intelligence officer, and multiple sector officers within the Federal Police command.
Earlier on March 16, Iraq’s Security Media Cell reported that five rockets hit Baghdad International Airport and nearby areas, injuring four airport staff and security personnel, along with an engineer who sustained injuries of varying severity.
