Rome conference yields over 200 new agreements for Ukraine's reconstruction
International partners have pledged over €10 billion to support Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced at the conclusion of a major conference in Rome on July 10.
Around 200 agreements are expected to be signed as part of the initiative, with a strong focus on rebuilding the country’s critical infrastructure, he announced, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“Putin has only two real allies — terror and winter. And we must respond to both,” Zelenskyy said, highlighting energy as a top priority in the coming months.
The pledges were made during the Ukraine Recovery Conference, aimed at mobilising financial support and fostering private investment in Ukraine’s war-torn economy.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed the outcome, stating, “We should be proud of the result we have achieved together.”
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the EU not only Ukraine’s largest donor but also a key investor in its future.
“With €2.3 billion in agreements signed today, we aim to unlock up to €10 billion in investments to rebuild homes, reopen hospitals, revive businesses, and secure energy,” she said. “This is solidarity in action. Ukraine is moving closer to the EU every day — in energy, education, roaming, and culture. Europe stands with Ukraine — today and tomorrow.”
