Russia approves extradition of three suspects to face charges in Azerbaijan
The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has agreed to extradite three Azerbaijani citizens to the Republic of Azerbaijan, following a formal request from the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office.
Iframin Abdullayev, Emin Yusufov and Natig Mehdiyev had been placed on international wanted lists for evading investigation. The individuals are suspected of committing crimes under specific provisions of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office told Caliber.Az.
Abdullayev, Yusufov and Mehdiyev were extradited under escort from Russia to Azerbaijan, where they are expected to face legal proceedings regarding the allegations against them.
Earlier, Russia extradited seven individuals to Azerbaijan that had international arrest warrants issued for them.
This information was confirmed by Azerbaijan's General Prosecutor's Office.
All seven individuals were arrested on Russian territory and delivered to Azerbaijan, escorted by a special convoy from the latter's Penitentiary Service.
Russia's justice authorities have extradited the following Azerbaijani citizens: Said Aliyev, Artur Orujov, Emil Aliyev, Zaur Dehghani, Nahid Safarli, Adil Mikayilli, and Elmir Mammadov.
These individuals were suspected of having committed criminal offenses in breach of Azerbaijan's criminal code and were declared internationally wanted for evading investigation.
