Russia, China agree on key parameters of Power of Siberia 2
Russia and China have broadly agreed on the main parameters of the planned Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project, including its route and construction plans, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has stated.
He called the agreement a “fairly significant achievement,” but said that some details “still need to be agreed, yet overall, such an understanding already exists,” Caliber.Az reported, citing Russian media, citing Russian media.
Peskov added that there are no precise timelines for implementation, noting that the issue involves commercial information.
“There is no exact timeline yet. This is, after all, commercial information,” he stressed.
The Power of Siberia 2 pipeline is intended to transport natural gas from Russia to China, potentially via Mongolia, and could become one of the largest projects in the global gas industry.
In September 2025, Gazprom signed a legally binding memorandum with Chinese partners on the project, as well as on the Soyuz Vostok transit pipeline through Mongolia, with a planned capacity of 50 billion cubic metres per year.
