Russia, China, and Iran call for peaceful resolution on Iranian nuclear program joint statement

14 March 2025 16:42

Moscow, Beijing, and Tehran have jointly emphasized the absolute inadmissibility of threats and military action against Iran's nuclear energy infrastructure.

This position was outlined in a report from the Russian Foreign Ministry following consultations held in Beijing at the deputy foreign minister level between Russia, China, and Iran, focused on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) and other key issues of trilateral cooperation, per Caliber.Az.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the discussions focused on "coordinated actions aimed at reducing tensions around the Iranian nuclear program, which has been artificially inflamed from outside."

The ministry further condemned the "unlawful actions" and "numerous gross violations" of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 by the United States and European countries. In this context, the three countries firmly stated that threats, intimidation, and the use of military force against Iran's nuclear infrastructure are entirely unacceptable.

A key component of the event was a detailed conversation between the participants and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

On the sidelines of the consultations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov met with his Chinese counterpart, Ma Zhaoxu, as well as Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.

The Russian Foreign Ministry described the conversation as "interested, lively, and substantive," covering a wide range of priority topics. During the discussions, the participants set out directions and specific tasks, which they will closely engage in moving forward.

They also discussed the "prospects for finding long-term, sustainable negotiating solutions, based on mutual consideration and a careful balance of the parties' interests," the ministry added. Following the consultations, a joint statement was issued.
