Russia carried out a large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine overnight on June 9, using two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles and 166 strike drones, including “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” “Banderol,” and decoy drones of the “Parody” type, Ukraine’s Armed Forces announced.
According to the statement, the air assault was repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
Preliminary data as of 08:00 indicated that 146 drones were shot down or suppressed by air defences.
The report also noted that two missiles and 17 strike drones hit 18 locations, while debris from downed drones fell in eight other areas.
“The attack is ongoing, with several enemy UAVs still in the airspace. Follow safety rules!” the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned.
