Russia launches 91 drones at Ukraine, air force repels majority of attack

Russia launched 91 drones targeting Ukraine on the night of September 6, with strikes recorded at eight locations and debris falling across several other areas, the Ukrainian Air Force wrote on Telegram.

The drones, including Shahed attack models and other drone imitators, were launched from five directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Ukrainian forces, including the Air Force, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and drone units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, successfully repelled the attack, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media. 

Air defence units shot down 68 drones in the country’s north and east. Eighteen drones struck eight locations, while debris from downed drones fell in four areas. The Ukrainian Air Force noted that “several enemy drones are still in the air; the attack is ongoing.”

In a separate strike, Russian forces targeted railway infrastructure in the Donetsk region.
