Russia launches dozens of drone attacks on Ukraine overnight
The Russian military launched 78 drones against Ukraine overnight from three directions, including several jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, Ukrainian Air Force sources have reported.
The attack originated from the regions of Oryol, Kursk, and Hvardiiske in Crimea, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
The drone strike comprised 78 combat drones and decoy UAVs.
Ukraine's air defence forces, alongside electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups from the Defence Forces, successfully repelled the assault.
Air defences shot down 51 hostile drones across the northern and eastern parts of the country.
A notable feature of the night attack was the use of up to eight jet-powered drones targeting the northern front.
Ukrainian forces recorded impacts from 27 drones at seven locations, with wreckage from the downed UAVs falling in two areas.
