Russia launches massive nighttime missile, drone assault on Ukraine PHOTO
In the early hours of February 26, Russia carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine, deploying a combination of missiles and drones, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
The strike involved 2 Zircon anti-ship missiles, 11 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M / S-400), 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 2 guided air-launched Kh-69 missiles, and approximately 420 attack drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others. About 280 of the drones were Shahed models.
According to preliminary reports, Ukraine’s air defences successfully intercepted or neutralized 2 Zircon missiles, 4 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M / S-400), 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 2 Kh-69 guided missiles, and 374 drones.
Despite the defensive efforts, impacts were confirmed from 5 ballistic missiles and 46 drones across 32 locations, with debris from intercepted missiles and drones falling in 15 additional areas.
Authorities noted that information regarding several Russian missiles is still being clarified as investigations continue.
