Russia pushes for quick resolution of Armenia-Belarus dispute
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin responded to inquiries about Russia's role in resolving the conflict between Pashinyan and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
He said Russia is actively seeking a quick resolution to the dispute between Armenia and Belarus, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"The Foreign Ministry is puzzled by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's firm stance towards his Belarusian counterparts," a top diplomat noted.
Galuzin highlighted Lukashenko's consistent emphasis on Minsk's interest in stability and security in the South Caucasus, with proposals aimed at reconciling the conflicting parties. He underscored that Armenia and Belarus are important allies of Russia, with whom Moscow actively fosters multilateral cooperation within frameworks like the CIS, CSTO, and EAEU.
"The Russian Foreign Ministry expects that these 'temporary disagreements' will not impede progress in cooperation within common integration structures," he said.
Galuzin urged Armenia and Belarus to look forward and grasp the significance of the current geopolitical landscape, emphasizing Russia's desire for both countries to contribute constructively to shaping a new world order.
