Russia ranks fourth among EU’s main gas suppliers, Eurostat estimates

Russia ranked fourth among the European Union’s main gas suppliers, including both LNG and pipeline gas, in June 2026, down from second place in May, the European Statistical Office (Eurostat) data shows.

Eurostat estimated that its gas exports to the EU were valued at €1.35 billion in June, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

The United States ranked first, supplying the EU with €1.83 billion worth of LNG, down 22% from May.

Norway ranked second, increasing its supplies by 7% to €1.52 billion. Of this amount, €1.44 billion was spent on pipeline gas and €76 million on LNG.

Algeria ranked third, earning €1.39 billion from gas sales to the EU.

Eurostat valued imports of British gas at nearly €813 million.

The EU also purchased gas from Azerbaijan (€475.7 million), Nigeria (€192.9 million), Trinidad and Tobago (€86.8 million), Türkiye (€20 million) and Libya (€13.4 million).
