Russia reports destruction of 11 Ukrainian drones overnight
On the night of July 13 to 14, Russian air defence systems destroyed 11 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across several regions of the country and over the Black Sea, said the Russian Defence Ministry.
According to the ministry, six drones were shot down over the Oryol region, two over Bryansk, one over the Kursk region, and another over the Black Sea, Caliber.Az reports.
The Russian Ministry of Defence has consistently reported the interception and destruction of Ukrainian UAVs targeting Russian territory and military assets since late 2022, months after Russia invaded the country in February 2022.
In a previous such incident, on July 11, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 155 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs overnight across multiple regions, including 53 in Kursk, 19 in Bryansk, 15 in Smolensk, 14 in Belgorod, and others in Tula, Oryol, Kaluga, Moscow, Crimea, and over the Black Sea. This was one of the largest reported drone interceptions in a single night.
